Hand Sanitizer Recipe (Rubbing Alcohol)
Ingredients
⅔ cup 99% isopropyl alcohol,
⅓ cup aloe vera gel
Materials
1 mixing bowl, 1 mixing utensil, a clean funnel, and a thoroughly washed and dried bottle with a resealable lid or pump to store sanitizer
• 1 cup Everclear (or 180 proof alcohol)
• 1/3 cup Aloe Vera
• 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
• A few drops of essential oil
• Hydrogen Peroxide (amount dependent on supply)
• Mix it up in a bowl and portion into a container.
Please note: the ratio you need for the most effective hand sanitizer depends on the percentage of alcohol you use.
For example, if you’re using Isopropyl alcohol that’s 91 percent, you’ll want a 3:2 ratio, 3 tablespoons alcohol to tablespoons Aloe.
If you are using 99 percent Isopropyl alcohol, you’ll want a 2:1 ratio (3 T alcohol, 1.5 T Aloe).
Assuming that you are using 91 percent Isopropyl alcohol, pour 1 cup into a mixing bowl. Next, add 2/3 cup Aloe vera gel. Add in anywhere from 8-15 drops of the essential oil of your choice.
Mix it all together and then transfer into a bottle with a pump.

I hate that checksheet so much. Angina/possible MI + shock (likely cardiogenic) and you're going to sit there and do OPQRST/SAMPLE/PASTE ? I Know you called for ALS but this is a trauma patient now. He should have already been in a moving box with a medic, halfway to ALS intercept, or closer to a hospital if intercept is too far out. Load and go. The Golden Hour should never be mentioned or taught in medical academia. This medic failed a basic emt checkoff.

This video was VERY well done. Not being pedantic, but it looks as though one of the cravats is directly over the tib-fib injury, thereby causing undue potential pain.

I'm confused, are you supposed to load the patient up onto the stretcher and into the ambulance going on your way to the hospital after the ABC? and then in the ambulance do the 2nd assessment? Or do you still stay where you're at to finish 2nd assessment because that's when you put them on a spinal board. Also do both 1st and 2nd assessment need to be done under 10 minutes? Or just the primary with the ABC's?

I have a question here , if this was a cardiac arrest situation , i mean if the pulse was undetected .. In that case we will start CPR but should we attach oxygen to BVM or we just give puff without O2 ? Second point , if the patient has weak pulse that he is unconscious shouldn't we start compressions to push blood to the brain and maybe he will regain consciousness?

    • @vicv7831
      @vicv7831 6 місяців тому

if there’s a weak pulse you bag them, no pulse start CPR & the reason you don’t add O2 during CPR is because it can be a hassle when you’re trying to restart the heart so it depends on ur resources

One thing my teacher told us was that we need to figure out how to put the KED on without moving in front of the patient. Because in a real life scenario, the patient could be in a car and you can’t go through the windshield to strap them in and we can’t stand in front of them if their in a car so, how would you get it on at that point. I know this is a skill station, I was just thinking of that. I’m nerves for this station for the NREMT 😬
